Eva is a project booster, concept developer, network amplifier, fundraiser and the key motivator behind new creative and urban developments in Amsterdam.
She has a passion for projects, which previously had no direction both raw and monumental. These can initially appear unsuitable for development and where a traditional economic approach may not provide the solution. It is these arenas, those where development appears to be impossible that excite Eva!
This is how she initiated the largest artistic breeding ground in the Netherlands; the NDSM Shipyard project based in northern Amsterdam. She also initiated the plan to purchase the NDSM Warehouse, which is adopted and taken further by the artists themselves. With Skate Park Amsterdam and the City Centre Climbing Wall Eva set up a coalition for a new and innovative metropolitan Talent Spot for the youth and young professionals. Eva keeps close track of developments along the northern bank if the river IJ in Amsterdam. With the Solid Ground Movement, Amsterdam’s first hip hop school, and many other cultural partners she is involved in the development of a new cultural hotspot on the riverbank opposite the Central Station, called the Tolhuistuin (THT).
In 2008, together with Layana Mokoginta (Purpura) en Ruud Vriens (Rednose), Eva founded ‘Open Innovation Capital’. Her focus is Open Source Creative City Development. Eva provides lectures and workshops both national and international on the bottom-up methodology and co-operative development in the creative spheres. She also provides tours of the NDSM Shipyard to international delegations, universities and architectural and cultural institutions.
Eva is chairman of The Guild of Industrial Buildings along the River IJ, an association of 24 art buildings in Amsterdam; she is a member of the Art and Culture Advisory Committee of the District Authority Amsterdam-North and a board member of the international culture vessel Stubnitz.nl as well as the Foundation “I” (for Ideas) in Maastricht, South Holland.
